A new law in Washington state prohibits employers from mandating their employees to attend meetings that primarily communicate the employer’s viewpoint on political or religious matters starting from June 6, 2024. “Political matters” in the law include political parties, elections, legislative/regulatory proposals and support for any political, civic, community, fraternal or labor association. “Religious matters” refer to religious affiliation, practice or joining/supporting religious organizations.
