It’s a good time to work in the business of building. Average hourly earnings in the industry hit $30.18 in September, an increase of more than 3% from the year prior. According to the AGC newsdesk, that average earnings in construction now have an almost 11% premium over the average for all nonfarm private-sector jobs. Pair that against an industry unemployment rate of about 4% and you’ve got a winning combination.
