When you think of AGC of Washington, think of one thing: a member-driven organization with excellent benefits.
But if you’re new to our organization, it’s a fair question to ask what exactly we offer with membership. When you sign up to join our chapter of AGC you’re also throwing your name in for a full package of member services designed for our base.
This package includes a workers compensation program built by general contractors with the unique aspects of the job in mind. The comp program includes the assistance of our full-time safety professionals and claims managers. With the help of the latter, plus our free mediation representation, we can boast an 80 percent success rate on industrial-insurance appeals.
Naturally, nobody wants to get hurt on the job, which is where another piece of our membership benefits comes into play. True to our mission of supporting and promoting general contractors, AGC offers a host of safety services to members to prevent injuries and on-site accidents. These services include our licensed Safety Team program, in addition to various courses and tools designed to keep workers safe at work.
Looking down the road to a post-work life, AGC offers a retirement plan for members. And, just to make sure you really lock down that retirement, our members also get access to a large body of project data and information we’ve accumulated to help contractors do the job as well as they can.
Membership benefits alone don’t outline the whole of what AGC does — for example, one of our largest roles is that of advocate. We enjoy a close connection to government leaders both in Washington D.C. and in the state and local political districts of our state, and we use those relationships to lobby on behalf of our membership and construction writ large.
We’re proud to be here providing value to our members, fellow contractors looking to support themselves and their trade. With the help of our members, we all become a little stronger each day.
